Amazon Pics Part 55

Post by Moebius »

A few more butterflies from the sandy shores of an Amazon tributary:

Unfortunate clipping, but the only one I had that showed the inside of the wings:

This one parked itself on the handle of our oar

number 3 for me, great pose, lovely colors and the nice blurred backround is beautifull,

im probly gonna move up to a longer focal length macro in about a month, for the extra working distance and the beautifull backround blurrs it makes

i really have to put alot of effort in to fit the backround with the subject using my 60mm

#3 for me also. The focus on the butterfly and handle & soft blurrred background are beautiful.

I agree with the comments made so far. All three photos are excellent but with pic3 everything fits into place to make it a perfect shot.

Is there a readily available, "costs less than an arm and a leg" field guide to all these Amazonian goodies you've been showing us?

:-k On consideration, you'd probably need a small (revise that, large) library of books - and then some.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Yes, clearly pic #3 is the best. However, as I have stated before, will show one pic of every subject no matter how so-so the picture is.

As my friend Craig mentioned in another post, we are still looking for the all inclusive "Complete unabridged Comprehensive handbook to Amazonian insects"...you know, something that will fit in the back pocket yet have every insect in the amazon via full color pictures. I bet there must be hundreds of different species...
