Epithelantha unguispina

Post by cactuspic »

It was a busy weekend with a number of plants flowering. At close to lifesize, the contrast of textures of this small cactus prove irresistable.

Image

Hope you enjoy.

Nice detail in the highlights Irwin - I think you got it just about spot on!

A very nice plant from what I can see of it - somewhat like a high class Mamm I always thought. . I believe this used to be considered a variety of E. micromeris, has it been afforded full species status now?

Thank you for your kind enouragement, Bruce.

I checked and it is but a subspecies of micromeris.

Take care.

You know I have probably seen more cacti than I have at any other time in my entire life, right here. These are quite nice and fuzzy and also like most cactus I suppose prickly. Beautiful shot, though it is just a bit soft looking. :D

Thanks you Doug and Ken. The picture is a bit deceiving. There is nothing cuddly about this cactus.

Take care.
