Nicely captured Ken! :D
A young specimen? I hope she wasn't hungry at that moment.

I am not sure how mature this snake is. Not that big (guessing 5-8 cm diameter at it's widest), but do not know if that if perhaps this is just a small variety...don't know.

Great photos Ken, and probably a little risky. Did you have Craig distract him while you got close with the 150mm? In the head-on picture, he looks like he could get a little nasty

I believe Craig got a full frame shot of just the head looking straight at the camera. Hopefully he will post it for us. The snake didn't seem too aggressive (except when I tell the story to other people; in that case it was ferocious!).

Excellent photos Ken. I particularly like pic3. I assume(?) that the curious structure beneath the eye is to do with the articulation of the jaw - to swallow large prey maybe?

Beautiful snake, however it is not a "Boa Constrictor" it is one of the species of "tree boas" which are common in the area. Genus Corallus possibly Corallus hortulanus
