CatBird Skull

Post by beetleman »

 is there such a thing...I don`t know, this is not one  . Same cat skull as earlier with a small bird skull, changed to grayscale for old bleached bone effect. Bird skull is 2" long. Look at those huge eye orbital sockets on the cat skull  (looks like Mr. Magoo)

Doug,

I am curious, are you boiling/bleaching these skulls yourself? If so, could you tell us how you are doing it.

And the cats...have there been some neighborhood cats that were bothering you in the past...bet they aren't bothering you now.

hehehehehe  They were roadkills Ken. I just put a post in my other cat skull topic about what I do for your friend Craig. Nothing special....just don`t let other people know you are doing it or they will think you are crazy & gross. I usually process the skull alone and in secret, than show people The skull when I am done

Another excellent "skull" photo Doug. Are the two sculls to the same scale?

I was trying to I.D. the bird but without much success. Obviously I'm rather limited to species I'm familiar with in the UK and so may well be wasting my time (but it's been fun trying anyway). Assuming you get them in North America, I'm gonna plump for the starling Sturnus vulgaris - am I close?

Same scale on these Bruce, I just took the picture with them side by side. The bird was pretty much stripped when I found it, so I do not know what it was. It could have been a European Starling (an introduced, invasive species)....they are all over the place here.
