My home pet

Post by MacroLuv »

Two weeks ago I got a new pet. :D
Actually this tiny (about ~ 2 mm) spider has found and chosen me.
He made his place on my desk plants and flowers. As luscious Hyacinth got into bloom it became his favorite location. :D

Now that guy is small! He has the disadvantage that he can't fetch your newspaper or slippers, though. But on the plus side, your home is guaranteed bug-free with him around. At least if the bugs are only a couple of millimeters long. He might make a tastey snack for larger bugs.

Thanks guys! :D
His name is Grga (or Grgur). This name means Gregory in English (from the Latin Gregorius and from the late Greek name Gregorios meaning watchful). 8)

:D These really are tiny and cute. Very well taken. Makes us appreciate what macro and closeup really see. Keep them coming, great shots IMO.

Today I asked Grga politely if I may take his measurements. He said OK and here it is - 2 (two, Croatian: dva) mm from head to abdomen as I predicted. :D

I was curious what he is feeding on. After short examination of Hyacinth's flower base and bulb I found this little transparent creature what ever it is. I've picked it up with wet paper tissue and photographed. It is about 1/4 ~ 1/3 of Grga's size.

Gregory is a very cute little creature Nikola. Yes, a great pet because you do not have to feed or pickup after  We want a shot of him eating!!
