These are really nice photos Ken. In my opinion (on my monitor) they don't require a great deal of lightening and there is a risk of losing detail in the highlights (pic2 and pic3 particularly).

I do think I could lessen the shadows in #2 & #3 a bit. Tough to be consistent when trying new techniques.

I agree with Bruce on the lighting...looks OK on my monitor also

What is nice about digital is you can always try it and than put it back

Beautiful images again Ken. I love the colors on the flea beetle (#3) FAMILY Leaf Beetles (Chrysomelidae), subfamily (Alticini). They have the inlarged rear legs for springing off.
The first one looks like a female I would say by the size of her abdomen
