These are really nice photos Ken. In my opinion (on my monitor) they don't require a great deal of lightening and there is a risk of losing detail in the highlights (pic2 and pic3 particularly).

I do think I could lessen the shadows in #2 & #3 a bit. Tough to be consistent when trying new techniques.

I agree with Bruce on the lighting...looks OK on my monitor also :wink: What is nice about digital is you can always try it and than put it back :wink: Beautiful images again Ken. I love the colors on the flea beetle (#3) FAMILY Leaf Beetles (Chrysomelidae), subfamily (Alticini). They have the inlarged rear legs for springing off.
The first one looks like a female I would say by the size of her abdomen :wink:
