Hi Folks,
Pic1
The first pic is a close-up on the Green Man posting. Doug originally made the suggestion (confirmed by Ken Ramos) that the green colour was caused by an algae. Steve Valley commented on the banding effect. This shot shows the surface and banding more clearly (I should point out that the moss-like surface texture is present on all T. versicolor regardless of colour (will add example to this posting later).
I have much closer images but to be honest they don't add particularly to the information present at this magnification. The fungal pad is approx. 22mm across.
Pic2 and Pic3
The next two pics are close-ups on the pink jelly fungus (Phlebia sp.) and I'm posting them - well because I quite like them .

You know algae seem to colonize most everything. I think we don't give them enough credit for their efforts. Like peanut butter and crackers, algae and fungi are never far apart. Where ever you find one, the other is lurking somewhere near by (quit laughing, I am trying to be philosophical here ). Nice images Bruce
Eeew!Living in a college town, I see stuff like the Jelly fungi sprout up overnight on the sidewalk...espically after Friday night or a big ballgame
