Spider
In my recent activities with spittlebugs and reversed lenses I came across this tiny spider (about 5mm diameter between opposite toes). It was extremely cooperative, maybe asleep?
Dynax 7D @ ISO 200

Very nice!
By the way, I calculate the total width shown in this picture as less than 4mm -- even smaller than you estimated.
The 7D's sensor is 23.5mm wide, and your lens combo is giving at least 6X magnification (300mm/50mm), plus just a hair from the extension.
The result looks nice and clear -- this setup is working well for you!

Thanks for the comments, guys.
Well noted, Rik! The EXIF data says that I was at 280mm; with this setting I now focused on a ruler and got between 3.2 and 3.4 mm of frame width (depending on how the focus on the lenses is set). Must have seemed a BIG spider after all those baby spittlebugs, all of 1mm or so.rjlittlefield wrote:Very nice!
