My favorite Pictures

Post by acerola »

I just want to join Paul with the look back on the last year. It is all I can do at the moment year in the realm of macro world.

I have more than one favorite picture for the last year.
The first one is just for the subject and the fun to make picture from jumping spiders. This one was especially curious.

The second one is for the mood of it. This picture is not really a technically perfect picture. But I liked the sunshine in spring and the outcome reflect it to me.

I call this picture th light drinker

The third one is an older subject of mine with a better technical realization. This is a cuckoo bee which rest this way at night.

I hope you like my little best of gallery of 2006.

I'm curious about your macro equipment as well.

Well my dear neighbour...
my equipment is Canon EOS 20D with a 100mm macro lens and I use a reversed 50mm lens on top of it, for all three pictures.
Most of the times I use diffused flash light for the picture, except for the second one.

I used compact camera with reversed lens a couple of years ago. That was also a good equipment (Canon G3, G5) but it was more a hit and miss issue than with the present equipment. I miss the lightness of the compact equipment.

I'd agree with Doug - excellent choices - my favourite'd be #2 ... for the 'ethereal' - quality (a bit like the light used in Elvish scenes in LOTR)

Nice work :)

Can't say as though I can pick just one out of the three. All would be considered top picks I suppose. But, if I had to pick just one, it would be the ant getting a bit of refreshment. Nice work for '06! :D
