Echevarias are some of my favorite plants. :D Both the flower and the plant itself have their unique charm. Please feel free to critique or comment.

Welcome! Very nice photographs! :D
I like both. What is on #2 (or #3, seems you missed first one?) background?
By the way, those plants are not true Cacti, rather succulents.

Welcome to the forums Irwin. Some great pictures for your first post. We have a great bunch of people here from all over the world and I am sure you will enjoy yourself. I know we have a few cactus lovers here. Both pictures are great. I love the second one...the colors and the background are beautiful. Is that adobe or terracotta something in the background? I set up your pictures a little differently but I do not know what is wrong with the first picture you have. I tried putting the immage tag in the front but it still didn`t show the picture.

Thanks for the kind comments and welcome. The first shot was taken tight, so there is not backround. The backround in the second shot is simply the blurred foliage and pottery of other plants I grow. I like to focus stack so I can tailor my depth of field.

Think Irwin knows MacroLuv, "cactuspic" is just his site nickname. He is more into other succulents than I am. I was impressed with his pictures and gave him a link to this site in case he did not already know of it.

See Irwins web gallery for many more close-ups of succulents (including cacti):-

Even a Tillandsia on there!

Sorry for the late reply, Doug, but I....

Thanks for taking the time to look at my gallery. Unfortunately, I do not have many tillandsias, but I do have one setting up a flower brackt. I will photograph it when it finally blooms.

I don't know if you noticed or if you can see it at this downsized resolution, but there is a tiny whitish spider or mite in the upper central part of the picture. I noticed it when doing my image stack, but it was gone by the time I finished my stack and swithced to a higher powered lens.
