Long legged and very slowly motioning guys with pretty long antennas as well.

Very easy to tell the male & female apart on these hoppers. Looks like a plague

Not really, I found only three of them during the whole day.

How you distinguish male and female hopper, by color or some other features?

I like the last picture the best.
The female has a pipe (piercer) to lay its eggs. Sorry I don't know the proper English word for it. The brown one has it.

I think the right name is ovipositor.
