Awesome photo Jody! The background really works to make the yellowjacket pop. Exposure is perfect, good DOF as well. Did you bait him with a little sugar water there?

Ha! This is wonderful Jody.

Great composition, warm colors, and really great details, nice and sharp too. Doesn't appear as meanacing as some other Yellow Jacket images, kind'a cute in a way.

I think she charmed her. I`m thinking that maybe this late in the season, she might be a new queen (very large & long abdomen) looking for a place to stay for the winter. As I understand it, yellowjacket nests die off and only the queens overwinter and form new nests in the spring. I garee with everyone...great looking picture Jody.
