Awesome photo Jody! The background really works to make the yellowjacket pop. Exposure is perfect, good DOF as well. Did you bait him with a little sugar water there?

Ha! This is wonderful Jody. :D Great composition, warm colors, and really great details, nice and sharp too. Doesn't appear as meanacing as some other Yellow Jacket images, kind'a cute in a way. :D

I think she charmed her. I`m thinking that maybe this late in the season, she might be a new queen (very large & long abdomen) looking for a place to stay for the winter. As I understand it, yellowjacket nests die off and only the queens overwinter and form new nests in the spring. I garee with everyone...great looking picture Jody.
