Christmas Baubles

Post by georgedingwall »

Hi all,

I went for a walk round the garden this morning after a rain shower. When I processed the shots, I thought this one looked a bit like a Christmas tree with shinny baubles on it.

The shot is of the developing flower buds of a Mahonnia Japonica, and the buds are about 1.5mm in diameter

D200 with Nikon 105mm Vr Macro Lens
F11 @ 1/800 second ISO 100
Twin SB800 Flash
Finished in Photoshop CS2.

Nice photo! The spherical drops of water mimick the buds!

Drops of water on flowers always seem to make for some beautiful shots. Well done there George :D

A truly delightful photograph. Nice composition, lovely colours and beautifully set off against a perfectly graduated background.

Very beautiful George. It does look like a christmas tree with crystal balls for decorations
