Hi Bill. Nice work on this.

I'm really happy to see people think out of the box recently. Many recent posts are abstract in nature, in that they aren't always pictures of insects. We've had Rivets, nails (really liked that one), an apple core (very creative), and now this thimble.

I like the fact that I can partially see you (or your camera) in the reflection of the thimble. Good detail on the texture and a nice clean image.

Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the kind comments Carl. The reflection is my camera, and a black card reflected into the front. It needed some contrast. I must admit, I consider this image and others like "Rivets", as intimate views. I do create abstracts. Here's a link to two that were shot with my macro lens, but then heavily PP. They are about 5 or 6 layers each, compiled from different shots of stained glass.

hrm, maybe abstract is the wrong word. I'm not sure the word I'm looking for, but I mean "not the stereotypical macro subjects". For example, see my next post ;-)

Really neat looking picture Bill. Great subject and textures in there :smt023 Good idea with the black card for contrast
