Anyone more familiar with cicadas? What's about white powder like areas on cicada's body parts?

Re: Deep in the shadow
On the one specimen I have right now, it's very fine short hair. See this post. On most of the body, the hair is much finer than the stuff on the face that I was highlighting. The third image (in followup post, same topic) gives some hints of that.MacroLuv wrote:Anyone more familiar with cicadas? What's about white powder like areas on cicada's body parts?
