Cicada resting on the pine. :D
Anyone more familiar with cicadas? What's about white powder like areas on cicada's body parts? :roll:

On the one specimen I have right now, it's very fine short hair. See this post. On most of the body, the hair is much finer than the stuff on the face that I was highlighting. The third image (in followup post, same topic) gives some hints of that.

So that's what that white stuff is, hair. I had often seen it on cicadas but never given it much thought. Nice shot there Nikola. :D
