There sure are a lot of butterfly pics being posted. Some dazzeling colors on this one MikeW, good capture.

looks a little worse for wear, but gorgous color in him. I haven't seen one like that at our Butterfly Gardens. Do you happen to know what species/name?

Its a UK variety Peacock - Inachis io

Hi Mike,

Nice shot of the Peacock Butterfly.

Are they relatively common where you are. I rarely see them where I live up here in the North of Scotland.

I managed to image one last year on a Buddleia, but I don't get many sightings of them up here.

I've created a members gallery of some of my images, and included the image of the Peackock in it along with a few other butterflies from my garden.

Not sure if I can link to the member's galleries here, but this is the link from the Butterfly album.

I think the Peacock is one of the best looking butterflies we get in the UK.

The Peacock is very common here in Bedfordshire counting this afternoon there were a dozen or more on the buddleia bushes. Your gallery link didnt work Bt I enjoyed a visit to your website

The link works OK for me. Maybe one of the site administrators will tell us if there is any restirction on placing a link to a member gallery now that you have to be logged in to view the images.

In order to view the member's galleries, you have to be logged in to the gallery site, so a direct link will take them to the login page and not your image.
