I have also noticed that in most of your mantis shots, Nikola, the abdomen of these insects always seem to be curved upwards. I have never noticed that in any of the mantis's around here, of course they are all gone for the winter now.
I noticed that too, one of Nikolas trademarksThe sky is so blue in the other two, very beautiful.

Yep, summer sky is very blue upon my little isle.

I think upward abdomen is a common feature of Ameles spallanziana mantis ("European Dwarf Mantis") and some others Ameles species.Ken Ramos wrote:...I have also noticed that in most of your mantis shots, Nikola, the abdomen of these insects always seem to be curved upwards. Ah, that is probably the reason why I have never noticed the abdomen being turned up on those around where I live, a different species of mantis, however, I have noticed only slight curvture in the abdomen of some but not as pronounced as those of the European Dwarf. Thanks Nikola.I think upward abdomen is a common feature of Ameles spallanziana mantis ("European Dwarf Mantis") and some other Ameles species.
