Is it just a tube? The Leica setup is a descendant from the Leitz camera hookups (which Wild had apparently incorporated lone before they bought Leitz) and I wonder if any of the Leitz photo setup stiff would procide a suitable part. I hope to sell some scopes soon, and if I do I will be asking aga...

why not like this ? Regards Pär http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/147_LeicaWild394035trinocularphototubeheadwith25x_1.jpg Even used these are very expensive from Wild/Leica, far more so than using a photo tube or beamsplitter. I believe they are something like 4000 dollars new. I don't ...

why not like this ? Regards Pär http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/147_LeicaWild394035trinocularphototubeheadwith25x_1.jpg Are you asking me or Scarodactyl? That is a nice scope head but it can't provide the same high quality optical path for photography as a S-type carrier Wild M3Z and ...

I did a bit more testing. Holding a camera right against the hole produces a vignetted image that is not quite in focus and gets worse as you move away from the hole. So your standard 'not big enough for direct projection, and even if it were the focal plane is too deep inside the adapter'. Holding...

Sure, a M400 with Apozoom AND a M10 are still on my list :-D However, they are not nearly so urgent now, after getting this super M3Z. Also means that my M7S will be for sale soon. Here's what that photo port should look like: http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/7236_M3Z_ad13_1.jpg Either ...

It is certainly generally reported that steo mag changing stereos produce a generally brighter image. Certainly they can be made with fewer compromises than a zoom system. The effect probably isn't huge anyway, though it does seem that most surgical scopes still use this approach, and Leica has con...

It will be interesting to hear what your findings are. Myself, I look forward to using the S-type carrier :-) At some point (when I get the scope, a Pentax T2 adapter and transformers for the lights) I will also make some objective tests comparing a Wild M3 achromat , a Wild M8 Plan and a Wild M3 Pl...

Wild stereo phototubes vs. 50/50 beam splitter and photoport
Hi, I am wondering whether anyone has experience or opinions on the merits and dismerits of the two systems in terms of microphotography using a DSLR or a mirrorless? In terms of image quality or ease of use, are there differences? By phototubes I mean the HV and HU phototubes and their accessory tu...

mmm, that sounds like a real beauty. Jackpot indeed! It truly is. I couldn't believe my luck when I got it as the only bidder. The starting price wasn't low but considering the number of parts in the package and their condition, it was very, very reasonable :) I also have the oblique viewing attach...

Wild might not have made a planapo for the m8, but the Leica M50/m60/m80 objectives are also 58mm thread and should be compatible. Presumably other Leica planapos might also work with a thread adapter. Typical pricing makes that a bit impractical though. No luck on the s-type carrier either, unless...

Hi Riku ! Ok i understand Hard to find Wild light stand i Think its better to buy a whole set but recomend you go for M8 Best regards Pär Hi, The M8 is a very good scope. However, unlike for the M3Z, there is no S type focus carrier for it. That is important considering photography (parallax, resol...

Hi What stativ do you have today ? Regards Pär Hi, I am currently using a heavy Wild double-boom-stand and a basic Wild no-lights stand (this one has a Wild M5A on it). But as part of a complete scope setup i will soon get an unused Wild darkfield/brightfield stereo scope stand as well. But as I sa...
