Enrico, the M Plan Apo and M Plan Apo SL have the same parfocal distance. I don't understand why a custom base would be needed. What am I missing?enricosavazzi wrote: . . . . The nosepiece accepts four M Plan Apo objectives (probably accepts also the M Plan Apo SL series if mounted on a custom base).

Not the size you're looking for but still very large
Ted Pella, Inc. http://www.tedpella.com/histo_html/coverslp.htm has coverslips uo to 4.8 x 6.5cm. Maybe they will work? Or, maybe they can direct you to a supplier of larger sizes.

Craig, I think the best clue may be the handwritten text in photo #3. I can't read all of it but if it says lambda 580, 580nm, or 5800 ångström ( +/- a few nm ) the part may be from a yellow laser (sometimes used to treat skin problems). If that is the case then, at least in my mind, the function of...

. . . Consistency along the length of the extrusion is another question mark, . . . Craig I wouldn't recommend these extrusions and bearings for dynamic stage positioning, especially at high magnifications. The rails are not particullary straight (but possibly acceptably straight over short distanc...

This may be useful for older versions of Windows but Vista and 7 and probably XP have similar capabilities built in. Your search: hover 2011 .cr2 should yield the same results in Vista or 7. You can specify 'not' search terms here too. For instance, if you have both hoverfly 2011 .cr2 and hovercraft...

"Hmm which way to go . . ." Yet another option
Steve, I've been using this 80/20 Inc. aluminum profile (1515 L) as a rail in a way similar to what I think you're contemplating (mines not macro related) . The equivilent to element B in the second photo of the first post. http://www.ebay.com/itm/8020-T-Slot-Aluminum-Extrusion-15-S-1515-L-x-48-BLAC...
