I`ll eat it here and just the way it is. The ants (genus Lasius) were mating again last night and this queen never made it to the wedding. This was the last picture the flash worked on. The lighting plays very well on the surface textures IMO. Each seed pod has a slighty different angle also. Like the right pod is facing towards the light, the other two are facing slighty away.

What a great capture. A thought.......do they (the fly) use their colors to trick their predators or the pray :-k . I always thought it was to trick the predators.

I decided to take the picture and use Auto color balance (Paint Shop Pro) on it and it did have an impact on the colors. The colors do seem to be off and this third pic does look more natural. The colors are correct (it is kinda mono colored) and I did use a top mounted 430Ex with two layers of tissue for diffusion (just folded around the head).
