Re: infinite objective with bellows

another "deep " question... is an iris always necessary here with the tube lens ? I have not tested specifically with the Raynox, but an iris is not needed with any other tube lens that I've tested. There is no iris in the microscope. The objective alone will stop down the tube lens to about f/20 a...

Re: infinite objective with bellows

i presume this is to correct optically the system ( superficial understanding... :-) ) Not too superficial. For our purposes this is really the only purpose of the tube lens. In the microscope, the infinity space between the objective and the tube lens provides a place where it is easy to stick fil...

Good questions. Short answer: I don't know. Longer answer... See http://www.mitutoyo.com/pdf/E4191-378_010611.pdf for a description of the objectives. Based only on experience with Nikon objectives and what I read in the brochure, I would expect the optical performance of the BD and M objectives to...

Re: infinite objective with bellows

would all enlarging lenses in the 100-200mm range work well? nikon ? rodenstock ? schneider ? probably one of these would be small enough to put with a bellows and a mitutoyo.... Yes, all of the above should work fine. In all the tests I can recall seeing, the differences due to tube lenses seem qu...

one more question: mitutoyo objectives

dear micro experts , sorry , again with a begginer question  spectra services ( NY state) that i found in the web carries a lot of objectives... 1- is this dealer ok ? 2- i can see they carry both a mitutoyo BD plan apo series and a M plan apo series... in the 10x category, the m plan is twice...

First take a look at: http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12147&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight= you may use the search engine for "tube lens" thks!!! actually that thread talks about infinite objectives with normal photo lenses as tube lenses and finite objectives with...

infinite objective with bellows

it seems an infinite objective with bellows needs an intermediate kind of lens.... i presume this is to correct optically the system ( superficial understanding... :-) ) can anyone point me which lenses of this type i should buy ? i would be using a pb6 bellows that i have, nikon 4x and 10x objectiv...

Of course!, with my Zeiss Standard I even did some stacks with a 100/1.32 objective. For lower magnifications it's fully adequate
good !!! :-)
i will take some time to work over 10x i guess :-)
still have to learn and get experience with zerene ....

This is graduated in micrometers "microns", so each mark = 5 micrometers. A Zeiss Standard, isn't it?. Not the higher precision stage movement, but if it works well (both smoth and firm) about 2 micrometer precision can be obtained. its zeiss, oldy, cannot find its name .... think its the standard ...

Does the 105 you have available have the focus lock screw? Some 105/4 have the screw, and some do not. These often have fairly loose helicoids and will focus creep on bellows. The focus lock is present on the f2.8 version. I have a 105/4 with focus lock screw and it indeed is a sharp lens, and good...

I had a 105mmf/4 but sold it and kept the 105mmf/2.8 MF, which is sharper all through. Haven't compared with the later AF lenses. The PN11 only takes them from 1:2 to 1:1. It's 52.5mm. The extension you need ( with the lens set at infinity) is given by Magnification = Extension/Focal length so your...

thanks for the input mr savazzi !!!! i would be buying this lens mainly to use it with bellows.... i do have the pn-11 and i imagine it would reach something in the 3,5x with it.... i heard that the optic formula of this lens is amazing, no floating mechanism i think... and that it is very shorp all...
