Thank you Zed .....
well .. there wasn't much choice (vertical and upsidedown) to show the skull.
:D

The insect was coming prepared and aligned as it is in the picture. I did not dare to touch the legs or the antenna. In fact at the moment it lost one antenna and one leg... very fragile thing.

The Death's head

Bought a few insects online... I have none here with the heat and the dry fields. So fragile and hard to handle. Did not dare to clean it with the ultrasounds tank. Eucorysses grandis. (Indonesia) https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48699412921_343c4810a7_b.jpg THE DEATH'S HEAD by antonio casei...

Thank you.
Yes it is alive. I had to do many corrections with Zerene.
it is a studio picture (a bracketing of around 30 pictures)

very young empusa

I don't have much to do here because now everything is completely dry and green grass / plants are long gone.. I did my last picture in early June. Couple of day ago I couldn't believe my eyes when i saw this baby Empusa. It's 1,5cm wide and 2,5 cm tall. To give you a sense of scale the support is t...

@ Rolsen, both Chris, Mawyatt, Cmagno, Deanimator.... Thank you for your concern and encouragement. I am at home now and I am reacting well to the medication and the intervention I underwent (2 stents in the right coronary). All my values are stable and normal. I just need to recover psychologically...

It's final ... everything in final position and wired. The whole thing weight's 10kg = 22lb 0.7oz with equipment / accessories 25kg = 55lb 2oz with the weights. Including my old carcass in the picture to give it a sense of scale. The base area is no bigger than 2 sheets of office paper. https://live...

Haha yeah it's a tough problem to solve. I will try take a photo of my setup tonight so you can see what I did. I think my setup will add too much height for what you're trying to achieve here but maybe gives you an idea. Playing with those SmallRig parts is a bit like Lego :D You just need to find...

It's an interesting design and should probably work well. In philosophy if not execution, it's similar to mine, especially how the camera and subject stage are mounted. The main difference with mine is that the extrusions are only used to mount the camera and subject, whereas you use them for the b...

Yes Soldevilla .. the error was corrected yesterday night. Thank you. (I forgot to upload to Flicker the screenshot of the CAD alteratin) As for the flashes, I thought so too. The flashes will advance the entire depth of the stack.. usually 2-4 mm (for the type of photos I make). Of course with magn...
