Very nice work, beautiful palette & detail.
Vigneting is easy to fix in the post. You have just a problem of too good a camera ;-)

Beautiful images, really nice work.
I'm usually partial to stills but your videos are also outstanding!
Cheers, Karl

Nice work! Beautiful dreamlike life form.
Just out of curiosity, why did you flip the image inbetween, just esthetic preference or what?
Cheers, Karl

Zeto later, it's now embedded in a jumble of wires, lights, power units etc. I'll shoot it after its next reincarnation.

Re: Wandering into fluoroverse
Thanks Pau and Scarodactyl for nice comments! Pau, I read your article a way back with great interest. That's a very through and clean conversion you made. I also seem to recall that before entering to that project you asked here about the usefulness of OI-17 but didn't get much response. Later on w...

Wandering into fluoroverse
A regularly appearing impression in this forum and elsewhere seems to be that getting started with epi-fluorescence microscopy is a very complicated and expensive proposal. This does not need to be the case - let me just present a small case study on this matter. First clarification: fluorescence wi...

Re: Rendering shiny carapace(s) - glossy or matt?
Good question. Similar judgements come up all the time when making exhibition prints or e.g. choosing photobook paper. Glossy paper has best black, brightest white, ergo best contrast when done right. But... the inevitable glint (or even worse, double reflection if under glass) can ruin the visual i...

Re: Monochromatic Microscopes?
A good summary of ASML's (and implicitly e.g. Zeiss') role in this tech/political game: www.brookings.edu/techstream/the-chip-making-machine-at-the-center-of-chinese-dual-use-concerns/ Hitech doesn't get much higher than this. Rather humbling to know that both Canon and Nikon are in this business bu...

Re: Monochromatic Microscopes?
Fascinating video & else on these magnificient lithigraphy machines. Incidentally it's been lately in news that they are fast becoming the decisive items access to which the industiral superpowers want to control. China has apparently been trying for some time to aquire the latest Japanese and Dutch...

Re: Algae galore
Thanks Fortesmentum for comments & interest. The UV used here comes through Zetopan Epi-fluorescence head. I had to work a bit on it & the light source to use LEDs (Nichia 365 here) and the filter revolver to extend the palette (vanilla ex/em UG1/LP430 here). This brings about the chlorophyl fluores...

Re: What's in the name: filter puzzles
Excellent summary and links, thanks Ichthyophthirius. Historical baggage & a case of profound nonstandardization here all over as you note. Omega thing will be a good, long read. I've ordered some some stuff from them. Dr. Johnson has an ebay outlet, running at least part of time, but there I never ...
