Re: What even is this: Plan Apo 40x/1.0 W infinity f=180 unbranded m25 75mm long

ps: the Thalia line is actually not that expensive, about 30'000 per lens. rental list prices are always a overpriced, at least here in germany, nobody pays that (well, except maybe for one day commercials). on longer projects with lots of gear people often get 70% discount. Yes, true. Los Angeles,...

Re: What even is this: Plan Apo 40x/1.0 W infinity f=180 unbranded m25 75mm long

cine glass has always been extremely expensive, a normal prime used to sell for 10'000-20'000. it's only recently that you can buy some relatively cheap, since some companies rehouse their stills glass with better mechanical housings (usually still 5000 though). if you want expensive, look at the a...

Re: What even is this: Plan Apo 40x/1.0 W infinity f=180 unbranded m25 75mm long

Thanks! I wouldn't really claim to know what I'm doing, but it does slot in nicely for a lot of my favorite subjects. Yeah, the Olymlus XLUM 20x/1.0 is just over 9k from Thorlabs, not cheap but far from the most expensive lenses you've handled. There's also a very intriguing Nikon water immersion p...

Re: Rodenstock APO-Rodagon-N 150mm f/4 EL Lens

I just now tried it out. Even at 2x it is stretching my ability to provide enough extension. The good news is that it is superbly sharp and clean, and the image circle looks like it could cover 4x5 even just at 2x. It could probably make a wall-sized print at 6x. Did your lens come with a PN on the...

Re: Rodenstock APO-Rodagon-N 150mm f/4 EL Lens

Thanks Robert. Were there any hints about the optimum magnification? This must be an amazing enlarging lens if it is designed to be used at such a wide aperture! According to the Rodenstock info, 6x with a 2x to 12x enlargement range. That is really 1/6x and 1/2 - 1/12x reduction range when used as...

Great results! You were the perfect user to get something good out of the lens. That thing caught my eye on eBay and I thought that might work out for someone that knows what they are doing but its not going to be me thats for sure. :D I'm still trying to get over the fact that Olympus makes a 20x/0...

Robert, I just now found some information about this lenson a Chinese auction website. It only says that this lens is used for digital printing.
Thanks Lou.

On a largeFormat forum someone posted an email from Qioptiq with similar info. So it is an enlarging lens and not a process lens.

Best,

Re: Rodenstock APO-Rodagon-N 150mm f/4 EL Lens

Hmm, I have a 150mm f/3.3 lens, only label is Linos Lens 338, bought from a forum member. I can find no info about it. It is shaped differently from yours, narrower at one end. Anyone know what "lens 338" is? If you ever find out let us know, I've seen those for sale and but can't find any info on ...

Re: Heidelberg scanner lens as 115mm tube lens

Thanks Robert. I didn't know I'd caused you such labours. Soz :) How did the lens test out for you? As a taking lens the CCD Objectiv 98.7mm lens I pulled from a Heidelberg, was not too exciting due to the slowish aperture, f/5, but when used as a tube lens, as you did, really excellent. CA control...

Re: 8x HR NA 0.32 + α7R IV 4 Image Pixel Shift Mode

The transition from focus to OOF is different with telecentric optic, I think the change is more abrupt Nope, not that either. If that's what you're seeing, then I expect it's a matter of other fixed aberrations in the non-telecentric lens that obscure the onset of the particular variable aberratio...

Re: Rodenstock APO-Rodagon-N 150mm f/4 EL Lens

_PM-Standing-Rodenstock-APO-Rodagon-N-150mm-f-4-lens-www-Closeuphotography-com.jpg Looks like this is a industrial printer version of the lens, the fixed aperture gives it away. The mounting and accessory threads are different than the normal EL version of this lens. M72 vs M50 mount for one. Looks...

Re: Heidelberg scanner lens as 115mm tube lens

Super results! =D> You know how many times I googled Heidelberg scanner lens because of your initial post. I did eventually find one, not exactly but one badged Rodenstock. Beatsy, I finally picked up an A7R4! A couple of years later than planned, but its finally here and I really enjoy it. (losing ...
