Ladybird parasited by Dinocampus coccinellae

It's been a while since I've posted macro pictures but I hope to be more present here. :) This poor ladybird was sitting in that unusual poition almost motionless, although it was a nice, shiny afternoon - it was parasited by Dinocampus coccinellae wasp! 47 exposures at ISO 100 with Nikon D7000, Nik...

Arge pagana

56 late afternoon natural light exposures at ISO 250 of Arge pagana sawfly larvae in typical dance posture - eating rose leaves. They are considered a pest, the owner of the garden was preparing to spray them with an insecticide and I was lucky to get there in time to take some photos. I told her I ...

Thanks for the infos.

There are shorter (around 2 cm, I believe) high quality metal hoods made by Heliopan. I think they are much better suited for use in macro range. 8)

Very nice result!

I would be interested to see the difference between a single exposure and the stacked result. Did you try such a thing?

Thanks.

Later edit: I meant comparing the exact scene - the stacked one and a single exposure around f11 or so.

I have this lens on my wish list but I'm not sure about the small working distance at 1:1 with the hood attached. I would like to hear some opinions about this issue. :?

I use some variable friction arms and bought clamps for my field work. The clamps are made by Manfrotto (by far the strongest one but pretty heavy for it's intended usage) and Novoflex.

Aculepeira armida

48 natural light exposures at ISO 100 of an orb-weaver spider of Aculepeira genus, Araneidae family. Hope I'm right with the ID. Not the best conditions, just a little too breezy but the result came out decent. Equipment used: Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Carl Zeiss Luminar 63/4.5 lens and Nikon PB-6 bello...
