When I looked at mr Chris Hejnars website I saw that he has developed and now sells a new product named Micrometer adjusting micro rail (325USD). It's a micrometer driven rail and it can be used for focus steps. It's not cheap but it's a new product that I not seen before. http://www.hejnarphotostor...

I would so love equivalents to this for all the insect orders! I have found a bookstore in the UK with a wide selection of insect books. http://www.pemberleybooks.co.uk/ One book of interest for me is, The European Families of the Diptera- Identification, Diagnosis, Biology written by Pjotr Oosterb...

But I don't know how long should the bellow to be. Does anyone know the optimum tubelength? I have seen some wonderful pictures, using 50-60mm distance. Not a standard tubelength. Magnification varies between 3x - 7X, fitting nicely in the range of objects already aquired and their usable magnifica...

Cheers guys, i'm due an upgrade and would like a camera that will give me the best image with the best glass, I'm not really thinking of 1:1 macro but more 10x to 50x. Mitutoyo will be my optic of choice unless there is an as good an objective range out there with a different badge. The mkll i thin...

Re: adapter for microscope lens to OM mount?
I would like to mount a microscope lens on an Olympus OM bellows. Does anyone know where I get an adapter to do that? I would prefer a flat adapter rather than a conical version, if possible. Thanks! Nice work. Thanks Conny for this comparison. They are both excellent. I think the contrast and definition ( at this size and resolution) with the Mitu is better. Nikon is describing their considerations in choosing a standard tube length to design a system around. To get a 10X objective, we have a lot of possibilities: 10 mm on a 100 mm tube lens, 15 mm on a 150 mm tube lens, 20 mm on a 200 mm tube lens, and so on. Which of those tube lengths will make it e...

I think you can go +- 50mm from the reference focal lenght with good results. At the same time it confuse me that Rik got so good results with the Nikon CFI 10X on a 100mm lens. Confused by what aspect? --Rik I don't remember my setup, but once i did a test with a 100mm lens as converging lens @10X...
