Microscope Objectives on bellows

I've been reading the posts on topics related to the use of objectives on bellows and have purchased some generic objectives to try out the approach. I've arrived at the point where I need some advice regarding objectives. Using the bellows it would appear from some of Rik's notes that 25x and lower...

How is this project developing?

Hi Rik,
How is the moth wing project going? I am really interested in seeing the results and the techniques employed or devised.

Stacking and Stitching what a perfect combination.

Interesting reading regarding butterfly and moth wings

In regard to some of the questions asked earlier in this thread, I have included a link to a PDF document. It's only a short article; a blend of science and art written by Thomas Eisner. Thought you might appreciate it. http://www.xerces.org/Wings/WingsEisnerSpr06.pdf Original source: http://www.xer...

SLR Objective adapter

For those who might be interested. I found a universal adapter that should fit nicely onto an SLR or bellows attachment. I bought one and at the time of writing this there were another 2 available. Type the eBay item number in the the eBay search and you should find it. eBay item number: 13003806872...

Interesting links

There is some interesting info in those links DaveW.

Ideally, for the D100, it looks like I need a Nikon BR16 and BR17; but it seems it will be quite an adventure trying to find them. One fits inside the other enabling an objective to be attached.

Nikon RMS Adapter

They are out there Dave. Thanks for the lead. Also did a Google search for RMS to Nikon mount adapter and came up with 2 interesting links; but this is all new territory to me. Will have to look more carefully when I have more time. http://homepage2.nifty.com/akiyanroom/redbook-e/macro/mc35up.html h...

Objective adapter

I'm not that handy with a lathe; but I've bought an adjustable adapter that extends the tube length of a standard RMS (Approximately 20mm Thread Mount). This extension adapter has male threads that mount to the microscope nosepiece and female threads that mount the objective lens. I should be able t...

Question

The first question is in regard to the interface between the objective and the bellows. Does it have a name or has it been specially tooled? I'm using a Nikon PB-6 bellows and D100. Second question, the dual goose-neck fibre optic illuminater. I'm looking at one that is powered by a 150 watt halogen...

Intrigued

Hi, First post. Can't contribute scientifically; but I'm intrigued by these images and would be interested in the details regarding technical setup. I've been reading about stacking and DOF and Helicon Focus and have a grasp, thanks to the forum. I'm currently looking into lighting for macro and Nik...
