The DDL lamps give you a few more lumens and a few degrees higher CCT. I like the ones from Osram or Philips or Ushio. I don't use no name quartz halogen lamps if I can avoid it. The brand name ones don't cost that much if you buy them from a good supplier. I buy lots of things from Graingers but no...

There shouldn't be any play nor wiggle in the ocular tubes. They screw into cover hoods over the prism. If the tubes are screwed in properly it is possible that the locking rings that hold the prism turntables have loosened and need to be snugged up. Or perhaps a tooth on the gear interface between ...

Probably at an earlier job which he no longer had.  After getting old enough to be able to find and af...

I have a check endorsing stamp that came charged with ink and I have had it for like 25 years and it still stamps just fine. It has neither dried out nor run out of ink. It is a porous plastic composition impregnated with ink. I thought eventiually I would need to "recharge" it but so far that has n...

Pau is correct that regular tungsten lamps are inferior to and probably emit more heat than quartz halogen lamps. Quartz lamps only seem hotter because they are smaller in volume and don't have the insulation of the large bulb. They produce a higher color temp which can go as high as 3450 degrees K ...

Pau is correct. You get what you pay for (if you are lucky :) ) The terms photoprojective, projective, photo ocular and relay lens are often used as synonyms. You can get a lot of information at the Diagnostic Instruments webstore page. Including downloading their coupler catalog, which is quite out...
