I am very impressed by my Scanner Nikon. However my copy of the Printing Nikkor 105 A version is even better. (My copy, which I got ...

Coastal Optical lenses vs Scanner 8000ED lens at 1X

I got these four massive lenses custom made by Coastal Optical System some time ago from a surplus vendor but never had time to test them. The black lenses on the left are actually infinity objectives. They can be coupled for mag between 1X to 2X. The tall one from the picture is two 105 f2.38 coupl...

I just want to share that the Olympus 40-150 2.8 could be used as tube lens with inf corrected lens/objective for stacking. The image was taken with Olym Zoom at 150 FL + Nik CFI 4X .13 NA, 500stack. http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/1872_Flyhead_OZoomNik4X_2_500stack_1.jpg Great image!...

Below is the number of bracketing shots with various lenses and settings. Olympus allows two parameters, #of shots and "focus differential" (step size). For this test, the # of shot was set at 999 and FD from 1 to 10. The number of shots from minimum distance to infinity was recorded. Lens Fl f # 1 ...

Here is the test target ( 1mm microscope calibration ) with 20X Nikon CFI in front of the Olympus 40-150 2.8 set at 150. The target was slanted so that the focus varies from 10 meter to infinity. Lighting was stronger on the left side. Helicon image: http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/187...
