Thanks, all. When I prepare the slides I usually put three drops on each slide because you never how they the drops will crystalize. I accelerate the drying by puting the slides on an electric coffee cup warmer. Every drop is a surprise.

I've gone through my histology slides, but I think you might enjoy some cross-polarized Ascorbic Acid.

It's interesting observing protists ingesting diatoms. I have observed ingested diatoms in a water sample rich in Chilodonella, but I am holding out to photograph one with at least three diatoms inside.
