Re: Gel with specific refractive index

The last one i use who doesn't work because on high magnification it shows a kind of granulometric texture and a light blue color was "Ultrasound Gel by Liquasonic". However, the consistency was great as it doesn't spills from the specimen holder "sandwich". The one i am using for quite a while now ...

Gel with specific refractive index

Hi, i shoot inclusions in amber and for versatility purpose, i rather install specimens between 2 microscope specimen holders (glass slices) covered with gel in order to "flaten" the field of view, than emerged on a liquid. This mainly to preserve the ability to position the specimen more freely (if...

Most low power microscope objectives don't work particularly well for photomacrography. I've had good luck with the Olympus M Plan 2.5, but otherwise all the objectives I've tried below 3x have been a disappointment. Even the Mitutoyo M Plan Apo did not do well vs some other lenses in the 2x range....

Lomo 2.5 - 0.05 Experience

Hi, Does any one have experience with the Lomo 2.5 - 0.05? A friend gave me one yesterday and at first sight it shows a lot of chromatic aberration. I try this lens on a PB6 bellow with +/-160mm extension, images are really not sharp, working distance is very short btw. I'm just curious of the setti...

JKT , I have not heard before your particular set of symptoms. But a couple of ideas come to mind. First, reset the StackShot controller to factory settings, using the sequence described in the StackShot user's manual ( https://www.cognisys-inc.com/downloads/StackShotManual_1_4.pdf , page 45) With ...

Have exactly the same setup, it works as suppose to. Just focus distance is much closer (as it suppose to be....) By experience, auto focus for macro is not the best option...but it work on my end are you doing exactly as "JKT" mentions ??? Yep, Raynox on the 200 Macro on D810, is there something i...

That's mostly to avoid this kind of trouble that i don't control anymore the Stackshot through the computer on my setup, camera control the stackshot steps, just need to adjust start & end points (via external monitor and "in camera" peaking, exposure, aperture and......go Simplicity it's divinity.....

I shoot daily 15/20k pictures in the same conditions and face the same "trouble" i guess the first step is larger than others to compensate any mechanical wear (clearance...sorry, english is not my native language) workaround is start early and finish late (mostly start early), it's anyway easy to d...

For the laowa i mean images lake of sharpness & contrast "straight out of box" but as you mention, this is not my target here So far for my low magnification needs i get the best results with a Olympus bellow lens 80mm 4:0 at F8 I'm self educated on the matter and don't have any experience with scan...
