Yes, it is indeed a flie. The short, fat club-shaped antennas with a thin whip are characteristic. But you need an expert to tell which of the thousands of flies you have got.

Porcellio in new light

I had difficulties with adjusting the light using flash so now I tried fixed light. I think this is a step forward compared with my earlier trials. http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/5507_Porcellio_201606_ZS_J_1.jpg A big youghurt cup (½ l with strawberry) covering the animal as diffusor....

A very nice and instructive picture of the tiny tubes which absorb oxygen from the Water and cunducts it via the larger trachea into the body.

I tried searching eBay but could not find any looking like these. I suppose it is beceause they usually follow the microscope and are not sold separately.

I will try to find a reasonable price.
