Hi Lou, The step size SHOULD depend on aperture Maybe if you use DCR-250 but not if you use Mitutoyo 5x. The M6 Mark II sets the step-size based on the aperture f4 of the EF 70-200L. This step-size calculated for the f4 is too big for the aperture 0.14 of the Mitty 5x :-( BR, ADi The Olympus focus ...

She tried to pick it up to show us and I kindly suggested that she replaced it in the grass so I sould take a picture. The animal was quite stiff and lifeless, so it was possible to do some handheld focus bracke...

I suppose Pau is right. Modern cellphones often have several separate cameras of different focal length. Apart from that it should be rather simple to know if a certain camera uses digital zoom: At 2x digital zoom the width of the picture measured in pixels should be half that of the non-zoomed pict...

I would start experimenting with better diffused light.
I see overexposed highlights. They are destructive and confuse the stacking program.

I always imagine the rainforest must be like a smorgasbord for macro photography. I am tempted to add: Just remember that most of the servings are done in the dark night, and you need a knife called deep knowledge and a fork called hard work. I have joined a few days walking in the famous Costa Ric...

A wonderful composition in the last picture.
The sharpness of just antenna, eye and legs has a strong effect.

I understand there is an important factor of luck involved. But you have to work hard to give luck a chance.
