Thanks Lou for the answer .. I have thrown the same question in other groups and I have received answers from various sides .. even amateur entomologists ... apparently it's a mix of everything .. breeding / hunting .. I believe these most "popular" and mass selling specimens "in the daylight" on eB...

... could i ask why you needed to make a separate vertical setup? one could just take the weights out, and stand the horizontal on end. Thank you..... Must explain that i am a complete novice . It's not a "need" to make pictures.. it's more a need to be busy .. since I could learn the basics of CAD...

this tool ... I don't know the name (even in Portuguese) it was right before my eyes every time I went to the shed... had "ideas" before, but now CAD and affordable 3D printing made it possible. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48844653492_ec6441e166_b.jpg IMG_20191005_003351 by antonio caseiro ,...

Years ago I had a similar idea and used an old stainless steel "spiral" from my days of developing 120/220 film. I used drawing-office variety tracing film. It goes in the same way film does and you can use as many turns as you feel like. Sorry, but if you're too young that won't meen a thing to yo...

Since some are asking in PM on Facebook and here if I share the *,STL files for 3D print I will make the files available (when I find out how to make this available to the public on google drive .. maybe tomorrow) Meanwhile also did a table (to make it easier) with the required length of diffuser pa...

Very nice set-up. I do see one point that can be improved though. You mentioned that wireless sucks your camera battery. That means you don't have an AC power supply for your camera? Having an external power source is a huge convenience, since you never have to think about batteries again. Thank yo...

Thank you .. it's nice of you to say that. the new vertical rig allows me to have all the studio gear in the workbench... before there was no space for the bracketing gear at the right for live beasts. And that's really nice because I did not do many bracketing because I couldn't bother to make spac...

Hello Mawyatt... I'm not using the rings I designed.. did not print yet. It's the "Matryoshka" The last layer is only a complete sheet around everything to isolate any possible ambient reflections from the frame, the window or anything else in the room I have 3 *.STL files ready to print the diffuse...

I think I'll never have to change Wemacro rail's position ... Microscope lenses use very small working range variations. 3 cm to 1 mm or something around that. in the position the rail is any lens will always reach the stage, no matter i use empty tubes or relay (tube lenses) ... I also use a lot of...

Thank you My "canopies" are very much like your cups.. except I used "Kebab" sticks instead of toothpicks :D I'm using Lee #216 and #400 ... both stop 1 1/2. With 3 layers i get exposures of about 1/4... 1/6 with the Olympus and electronic shutter. When I was using the "canopies" and the Nikon DSLR ...
