If still seeking good quality used microscopes you might consider checking Brunel Microscopes' 'Used' listings where e.g. 'Ex laboratory' instruments are listed including phase contrast microscopes. Also check their used 'Accessories', 'Other equipment', and individual manufacturers' apparatus. http...

I have a few questions about macro on a mirrorless, when focusing manually or using a fixed focus point electronic aperture lens how easy is your focus down the viewfinder? Can you see when your focus there okay? I tend to like to focus down the viewfinder as it keeps the camera/lens/flash weight c...

Very good picture! that is an unusual but obviously workable set up. Thank you for your comment … the 3 element Novoflex Noflexar 'T' 400mm achromat is a very cost effective 'long focus' lens solution for mirrorless and DSLR cameras which also responds well to use of modern extenders / teleconverte...

Great Pond Snail at the surface

I'm aware ...

^^^ Thank you … The Nikon 1 J5 is a very underestimated camera - as is the Nikon 1 70-300 VR lens. 'Dismissed' by some because of its 1" sensor but so useful and eminently portable. Consider how large a FF 189-810mm lens would be if available (there are none) ; the Nikon 1 70-300mm is equivalent to ...

What a pleasure to meet that strange fellow again. Luckily you were at the right place at the right time. I believe is is rare to see them out of water. When I studied fresh water biology I had a pond aquarium and happened to get some juvenile Ranatra by accident. I had much fun watching them (well...
