Ant with "mealybug: is a Meranoplus species.

It is possible they are Leptogenys however they seem a bit bulkier than I am used to seeing with that genus.

Wonderful, the ants with larvae are apparently an Aenictus species. The queen is a Camponotus. Not entirely sure about the Ponerines with the katydid.

I agree, nice shot. the orientation is a bit bizarre but who said they have to read the rule books. P dominulis is definitely one of those species which will do their own thing much like the introduced argentine ants (Linepithema humile) and brown widows (Latrodectus geometricus) do.

Love the army ants, they are a Neivamyrmex species. Cant quite tell which one though. Possibly N. gibbatus. However it is one of the more rarely seen species.

Nice, these crabs are usually fairly tough to approach. I am glad the populations there are still high. Once very common on the rocks in Southern California they have all but vanished now.

Nope definitely adult ant lions, Vella fallax. When they were done all that was left were wings.

I have not seen this behavior with dragon flies however this summer I observed it a couple of times with ants lions eating larger moths. First I saw I thought I had stepped on until it finished and flew away.

I concur, when I was growing flytraps, harvestman were common catches.

Wasp/hornet either way it is a nice photo, "Hornet" tends to be the term applied to the larger "Yellow Jacket" type wasps which this is.
