Re: A rather 'summerish' spring II
Nice article and images. I learned something. I guessed that was a legless lizard due to the scale pattern and face. There are 9 spp in the US.

Very nice images. The distribution appears to be in colder climates (idigbio mapping). Appreciated the story too, always enhances the images.

Bobcat Skull
Something different ... Rik, please delete if not considered close-up images. This is a throwhback to my vertebrate zool days. I found the Bobcat skull ( Lynx rufus ) years ago and thought it would be interesting to photograph. The images are stacked. It's native to Canada, US and parts of Mexico ( ...

Gray Mold on Pear
I am not familiar with molds but found this one one of our pears. In doing a search online, this is something that looked close - Botrytis blight possibly “gray mold” , fungus Botrytis cinerea . I let it grow out for a few days and did a few stacks. Pear-Mold-5A-2024-03-21.jpg Pear-4-grey-mold-Final...

Appears to be an old world species. I don’t think I’ve seen this species before but similar to our swallowtails. Thanks for posting it.

Re: A Few Carnivorous Plants
Thanks for the comments Mark and Zook! In looking at one of the Jack-in-the=pulpit images (2nd one from the top, center), I noticed a small insect on an upper leaf. As I recall, the mosquitoes were very abundant that day. I’ve enlarged a copy below. Jack-in-Pulpit-4421-Dipteran-spp.jpg This is a lit...

Re: Lens recomendation for film reproduction
I cannot comment about the Noflexar 60mm since I never tested/used/owned one. If it is any help, years ago I did my own digitizing of 36x24 mm color slides with Olympus E-M1 and E-M1 II and the Olympus 60 mm f/2.8 macro. I used a legacy slide duplicator as slide holder (without optics in the duplic...

Re: Lens recomendation for film reproduction
Thank you for all your valuable comments. I think I feel confident in refining my technique with the SIGMA 70mm. - For light i use Kaiser Plano light. It looks like the light from it is very even and has the right color. - i scan different films. Mostly HP400, tmxa400, kodak pro 320 etc. - to minim...

Re: Lens recomendation for film reproduction
Hello, I have read this forum from cover to cover. I actually found several threads that talk about reproduction, including flat elements. However, I did not find a single topic that mentioned the recommendation of a lens for film reproduction, either in the 120 or 135 format. I also looked at the ...
