Re: WTB: Zeiss Standard w/ 100x Oil Objective

Hi, I have a Zeiss plan 100x oil and a Zeiss Winkel 40x/0.65, I'd be willing to part with for a fair price, I'm in EU. Winkel 40 is great and the 100x I never really used, but don't remember it had any problems like delamination. I can check if you have any interest.

stacking and RAW

Hi, how do you handle RAW images (.ARW in my case) with stacking programs? Do you first do the colours, WB etc. on one image and paste the settings to others in Lightroom (or similar) and then export to the focus stacking software? Or there is a better path, I'm wondering what is the best practice.....

Re: Sony SLog Rheinberg filters Video

DF with SLog3 Achieving overexposure with darkfield for best SLog3 seems a big ask. Actually my BHS 100w halogen is quite powerful and the camera sensor is very sensitive, so I can overexpose all I want :D. Works well with 1.4 condenser. It records SLog3 in native ISO of 1600. I just edited a DF vi...

Re: Sony SLog Rheinberg filters Video

Thanks, I use Premiere, DaVinci was crashing all the time on my PC a few years when I tried it, so I switched. Although I did like the program. I did find some links about color grading and had some success with normal (non micro) videos. This one was just bad, maybe I should try another one in DF w...

Sony SLog Rheinberg filters Video

Hi, here is a test video with a sea creature, Rheinberg filters I printed a few days ago and a BHS with Dplan 4 and 1.4 condenser. I filmed it with my newly acquired Sony A7s II using SLog3 profile. Wasn't really able to enhance the contrast with software without having the whole field look very art...

Re: Second image - spongy sea being

Do you have some suggestion for an another program, or should I stick to this one? I suggest to take a look at Picolay, http://picolay.de/ . I think it will do good work for your needs, and it has the advantage of being free for non-commercial use. I have no idea whether the user interface will fit...

Re: Second image - spongy sea being

Here is an another one, I enabled the condenser on my BH-2 to go a bit further up, so I think I can get a bit better DF now. I don't know what is on the image, it is some sort of a sea being, looks spongy... I dived some algae out yesterday and this was on the slide. It looked interesting so I made ...

Re: First image - crustacean in DF

Thanks for the reply, I didn't realise it was dark until I put it here :) that happened to me more than once (not here obviously) .
I should calibrate my monitor too, I'll look into it. I have an Apple Cinema display, with a PC

Re: Antlion lacewings

Great image, congratulations. I don't know how you make these sharp stacks. I hope to learn this sometimes, it seems like a lot of work is to be done? I find these antlions very interesting. We tried to breed one from larvae a few years ago, feeding it with ants etc. but it died after a month or so....

Hi

Hi everyone, my son wanted a microscope as he's very interested in studying marine species. So I bought a Zeiss GFL last December, then an old brass Reichert, Olympus sz4045 and an Axiolab Re (incomplete optics)... So apparently I'm hooked too. I did some repairs to all of them, except for the Olymp...
