Re: About Wild/Leica M420 add-ons (objectives) and their (in)compatibility!

Hello, After some tests with the Wild 2x add-on put under the Apozoom, I've determine a 5.1mm distance under its bottom and the 2x add-on flat round base , in order to make it well focused! Even trying so, holding it by hand, with an adapted wedge to maintain a correct distance, results seem to be g...

Re: About Wild/Leica M420 add-ons (objectives) and their (in)compatibility!

Thank you @smokedaddy for manual information, but in this page there it is not written which kind of 2x add-on (Wild or Leica) can fit the Apozoom or Makrozoom..... But it is said before this table in the manual: " The 0.4× and 2.0× additional objectives used with the Apozoom objective have been spe...

About Wild/Leica M420 add-ons (objectives) and their (in)compatibility!

Anybody knows if a 1.5x add-on is compatible with the Apozoom objective, and not only with the Makrozoom objective, of this M420 macroscope? In fact I had a bad surprise with a 2x add-on (ref: Wild 410377) which is not compatible at all with the Apozoom.... Its inside body being too long (8.3mm from...

WTB: Leica ( Wild) M420 2x or 1.5x add on

Hello, Looking for a Leica M420 2x add on, or a Leica 1.5x one Leica 2x obj.jpg Eventually also a Wild M420 1.5x ( 410376 reference), if it could be set under an Apozoom ! But not the Wild 2x, as this one could not fit under the Apozoom, but only the Makrozoom.... If anybody has one I would be inter...

Re: About Wild/Leica M420 add ons (objectives)

Just a try made with Raynox 150 hold by hand in front of the apozoom... In fact results seem to be very good up to about 20x, but for larger magnifications: 25x to 35x there are not.... It would be necessary to make a support for this Raynox lens in order to place and to stabilize it in front of the...

Re: About Wild/Leica M420 add ons (objectives)

thank you scarodactyl But these Raynox lenses are first used for close-up purpose and not only as a tube lens! In macrophotography they are quite good placed in front of a camera objective (even a zoom). I've got good pictures with this one in front of an Olympus 60mm zoom.... But perhaps isn't the ...

About Wild/Leica M420 add ons (objectives)

Hello, Anybody knows if Wild / Leica 1.5x and 2.0x add-ons for the M420 macroscope are just made with one lens or with a lens group? As these genuine add-ons seem very difficult to find (and are very expensive !) I would perhaps try with other add-ons or objectives, hoping not to loose too much opti...

Re: Good polarizer to put in front of a macroscope / microscope lens?

Hi scarodactyl,
I've made with an old Wild M5 filter and adapter for my leica M420 in order to use a new polaizer

see here https://www.microbehunter.com/microscop ... 14&t=19028

So I've not to hold it by hand for use, that's more comfortable!

Re: Circular polarizer instead of a quarter wave plate?

Re: Good polarizer to put in front of a macroscope / microscope lens?

Thank you , and sorry for my question about Wild coaxial illuminator (M420 and stereo M serie) which was in fact stupid as the M420 only has a central beam path and not 2 as in M serie.... But did you compare results get with a camera polarizer and with a quarter wave plate, from a Wild coaxi...

Re: Good polarizer to put in front of a macroscope / microscope lens?

have you been able to get a good solution for polariser, especially for the M420 scarodactyl? I'm interested by your results, as I would like to shoot with my M420 different slides with cover slip and avoiding bad reflection on the glass! By the way is the coaxial illuminator designed for M420 macro...
