Would this method be adaptable or suitable to my (non-IS, non-L) Canon 100mm macro lens and a FF 5DII camera body? The use of this technique with the non-L 100mm macro lens is interesting topic to be tested, last year I remember a flower stack with the "100mm classic" no Raynox in front of the lens...

Mating thomisidae

This week was lucky enough to register the mating of this lovely couple. Was about to left hand a flower to portrait the male, noticed a female in the same flower. The male embraced the female in a fast and definite way, by lateral movement of legs making justice to the name "crab spider". The whole...

Thank you very much Rik, I was looking for a telecentric lens on eBay and the ones listed were priced above what I'm willing to pay for testing purposes. Now you showed a way to achieve telecentricity with lenses I already have, I don't have the method to test the telecentricity with alternative set...

Excellent portrait with personality.

Before macro spiders were in my nightmares, after months taking pictures of them and now by best nights are the ones that I dream with spiders.

Would revisit this, have seen reports that match the first statement of this topic also in astronomy forums. Paradoxically what I'm experiencing is a reduction in the floaters, one possible explanation would be the two eyes offset the unilateral floaters. But I'm not secure this explain completely t...

This is a very interesting development, I still wonder why jumper spiders deliberately jump to flash diffusers every photo session, if the light of flash relate to something (situation) found in nature.

I was interested in these too, but the same problem, the shipping to Brazil is near U$ 40 (for a U$ 25 objective), found the same objective in another seller for U$50 (in this one the shipment is U$ 15 :() Same behavior in Brazil by the customs, a U$ 25 objective would probably pass without charge, ...

Eggs, eggs

This one was ovipositing in the wall of my home, the flash produced a "stock image like" background: Stack of two pictures with Canon MP-E 65mm @ about 1x magnification, raw processed with UFRaw and final stack in GIMP http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7021/6649699005_c22b6beef7_z.jpg Oviposing bug by G...

I ordered a TC for cheap, will give it a try anyway just in case. Snapping on and off a TC in front of the MPE sounds too good to be true. I think for the price is worth to have one at home, is even possible to orader a PK mount to 58 mm reverse or M42 to 58 reverse for complete comfort, but the IQ...

Thank you very much folks, I agree with the rear dial to be more ergonomic in the 7D, I'm glad some days passed and noone issued image quality differences, the thing goe most for ergonomics and usability. As a hidden agenda I recently got the canon 100mm 2.8 "L" and see the 7D as a perfect fit for t...

Body for MP-E handheld shoots

These are a few thoughts for Canon MP-E 65mm users in APS-C bodies, esp important if you are after action moving subjects. From now most of my shoots in the last 15 months were with the MP-E 65mm and canon 7D, the lens live in the body and I really like the results and dust free images. But I'm must...
