Re: Advice Needed
Thanks for your note, Pau and for the helpful information. As noted elsewhere, Scarodactyl is going to see what can be done regarding my goals for the scope when he has a look at it shortly. I appreciate your input.

Re: Advice Needed
Thanks much, Chris. "If this is the stand I saw portions of ..." Indeed it is. As he noted, Scarodactyl has offered to help with the modifications. My question was/is whether I can get this scope to the point I would like it for the variety of purposes I'm hoping for, which include polarized light, ...

Re: Advice Needed
Thanks, Chris. For the crystalized/polarized chemicals, I also need to get a retarder into the image train, as this gives me lots of options to adjust color. And darkfield is also really handy (as is EPI), but I don't know if I can manage all of those as well. Plus, I need the light source to be awa...

Re: Advice Needed
"polarised light" Thanks for the note. Well, not quite that simple. I want to set up the Olympus for a variety of tasks that include polarized light for the crystals and reflected light for other subjects. So I'm trying to determine if it will be more expensive to mod the Olympus properly or to look...

Advice Needed
I've got a set of Mitutoyo objectives that I use with an adapter on my DSLR when I am stacking (most often bugs). I'd like to be able to use those same objectives with a trinoc microscope so I can photograph crystalized chemicals under polarized light... my current Motic POL 310 does a nice job, but...

Automated focuser for stacking - Olympus STM
I just bought a used Olympus Measuring Microscope Model STM and would like to find a way to automate stacking. I've tried a Micromate, but would prefer to learn of alternatives. Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Some 3D printed accessories for the Godox TT350 flash
I've been looking for a good source to print these. 3D Hub is now "Hub"and wanted $90 to print just one of the smaller ones - they require a $50 surcharge for some reason. Found another site and they ask what Process to use - DLS, DMLS, etc, and what material EPU, SIL, etc. What would you recommend?...

Re: Some 3D printed accessories for the Godox TT350 flash
Very definitely interested and thanks for the tip about a good source for printing. I would be interested in designs that would work with a microscope objective, which is what I tend to use most. Are you building these mostly for camera lenses?

Re: Focus stacking a live and active BMSB
These particular critters are not nice guys. I have no problem terminating them: Brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) is an invasive bug that is a serious pest of fruit, vegetable, and other crops. It also becomes a nuisance pest of homes as it is attracted to the outside of houses on warm fall days in...

Re: Lens support
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm seeing expensive, industrial -looking idler rails with a Google search - is there a product you know of that would be the right fit for this setup? Not sure exactly how to mount it. but then again, not sure exactly what it is. I also use shorter lenses (Laowa 2.5 - 5x...

Lens support
I'm using a Nikon 200mm f/4 lens as a tube lens on my system and would like to have some type of lens support to lessen the weight on the camera mount. Does anyone know of a product that would work in the attached configuration? Thanks for any suggestions.
