Re: Software question

I use Image J (Fiji distribution: https://imagej.net/software/fiji/ ). I use it for items in mm up to 10cm, but it can be used for smaller sizes. To work I already have the size of my image or an object within the image. With that it mind: 1. Load image into Image J 2. Choose the line drawing tool f...

Re: Panasonic Lumix cameras & Post Focus

I have not used the G9's high resolution mode, because when I focus stack from a 6K post focus video file, the final stack gives me a tif file normally over 100 megs. Initially Helicon extracted jpgs from the post focus video file, but more recent versions extract tif files (you can now choose jpg o...

Re: Panasonic Lumix cameras & Post Focus

It looks like the new Panasonic GH6 does not have the Post Focus feature of the GH5 and G9 cameras.

I am seeking confirmation, but the dial on the top left of camera no longer has the macro/post focus image on it, it has been replaced by a high resolution mode.

I had Chris Hejnar do some custom work, he was great. Communication was by email. I would not hesitate to use him again.

Re: Misfire of strobe during shooting

Two things to consider.
1. Set the Godox remotes for close range in the menu, not the longer range.
2. Make sure you are using batteries rated at 1.5voilts, not 1.2 volts.

Re: Fast Stacking and Continuous vs Flash Lighting

The Post Focus feature on Panasonic cameras may help here. I use the feature (G9 camera) in the field with a small Sokani LED as my light source. The camera creates a 6K video, the frames are extracted and then stacked. The in-field workflow in all about speed, as is my desktop workflow. I sacrifice...

Re: Panasonic Lumix cameras & Post Focus

Short story My Post Focus workflow has been revised. I now use Method A in Helicon Focus to stack the frames extracted from the 6K video, then I put the stacked image through Topaz Sharpen AI, giving even better results than before. Long story When version 2 of the Panasonic G9 firmware was release...

Re: Helicon/Lightroom batch processing integration?

I have no idea what location in Helicon has the images once they are exported from LR via the plugin. Keeping in mind that at the end of this process the whole point is for the rendered images to be autosaved back into LR after the stacks are rendered. Lyle You will probably find them in the Helico...

Re: Panasonic Lumix cameras & Post Focus

I have chosen post focus because it allows me to achieve good shots, quickly in the field. It does come at a cost; the quality is not as good as using a macro rail. Post processing is even more important to maximise image quality. Depending on the subject, I use Helicon Focus and Zerene to image sta...
