Beautiful pictures! Congratulation!
The "bottle" could be the "skin" of an animal of the Gastrotricha with its eggs.

Very interesting in these pictures are also the bacteria embedded in the mucilage. They always stand at a right angle to the body of the alga (90°). You can see this often in the mucilage of other algae. Are these symbionts?

Hello Rafael,

I would like to know if you make these pictures with an electronic flash, because the cilia are so clear. If I remember well the camera was a Canon 80, and the exposing time?

Hello Rafael!

Congratulations for your pictures! This is Zoothamnium pelagicum - a very interesting protozoon from the peritricha (with symbiontic bacteria).

Thank you very much for sharing!

Hello Rudi,

I think this is a Statoplast (a "winter egg") from a freshwater bryozoan.
An interesting picture!

Thank you Charles and pwnell ! Piermicro : You asked me "Dove le hai trovate così numerose?" (Where did you find so many?) This was a little adventure! I saw near the sea a pond with brakish water. Part of the pond was evaporated, but left in the sand a green line. I took a little bit of the "green"...

Thank you for your answers. carlos.uruguay: I use a Pentax K20D zzffnn: "How did you achieve that Franz?" - I put a coverglass (24x60 mm) on the surface of the water from the sample. Because of the surface tension the coverglass does not sink. This method is very useful for me. I use it also for oth...

I would be happy to know more about this Euglena, species ecc. I found it in brackish water. One Euglena was 60 µm long.

Hello Dominique and Renè: I dont have a picture from the striae, because the objective with the highest magnification I have is a 40x: The good objectives with 60x or 100x magnificaticion from Nikon (with 210 tubelength) are terribly expensive for me.

75RR: Thank you for your answer!
