Heh heh no surprise there... Just tried a 164 image stack, 1.4MB JPG's - still couldn't take the heat....

Oh well thought I'd give it a go!

Image stacking using Photoshop CS4

Has anyone tried this yet?

I just tried a 307 image stack and it packed up - not enough memory!

Admittedly I did load 307 65MB tifs... I may try smaller JPS's and see what happens...

I have 12GB MacPro with dual quad-core processors... hah hah thought it was worth a mention....

Cheers Rik. Usually for online images I don't stress too much about the conversions as long as they retain most of the image quality that I'm happy with it's usually fine for me... Sharpening isn't really one of my strong points. I know it probably should be, but it's always put me off as I find som...

That sounds about right Rik. I've never been a fan of using that 'save for web' thing as the colours shift. It wasn't a huge shift. The smaller image turned out a bit darker than the original and lost some detail, although I did set the jpg compression to high quality. This was a tough image as the ...

Hi there. The light tracing images are created using a damped harmonic oscillator (pendulum). Also known as harmonograms. If you google 'harmonogram' you'll find some information. The ones I my Flickr site were created as part of a uni assignment that was aimed more at having us record the path of a...

Hello from Melbourne, Australia...

Hey I didn't realise this section was here! My name is Wayne. I'm just about to graduate from the scientific photography degree at RMIT University in Melbourne. I've been keen on learning more about photomacrography for a while and have spent most of this year working on a project examining photomac...

Heh heh yeah thanks Rik. I showed the rose image plus a couple of others yesterday and they received quite a bit of interest. No-one believed that a 12" x 16" print was showing something only 8mm wide with such detail. Thanks for the work you put into this site as it's helped me a lot.. :D :D Wayne

heh heh.. I was able to bring out more detail in black and white... When in colour it was a bit overwhelming.. Using the colour sliders in PS I was able to accentuate the detail in the edges of the petal, making for a much more pleasing result... This image will be exhibited at the RMIT University g...
