And here's a shot with the new setup. Very detailled.
Pano of 3 stacks (should have stacked a bit deeper)

Parts finally came in - they are a bit specific so it takes longer. Per dickb's advise (much appreciated!) I chose a 30,5 to 40,5 step up ring, 40,5 pol filter and 40,5 lens hood, all Heliopan. The parts are connected to the lens using a rubber chair leg cover which I happened to have. Of which I cu...

Hi DickB - thanks that's really great advise. So straightforward I almost feel silly I haven't thought of it myself. So I need to test what image circle this lens has at a magnification I expect will be the maximum (1:2 I think), determine lens to object distance (circa 110 mm) and then all all vari...

Thanks Dick - great point on the shiny-ness of canisters as well as rubber. A step down (or up depending from what side one is looking) is my plan - the question is - to what diameter? I.e. which diameter would be safe to step up to and add a hood without vignetting? There should be a formulate to c...

Thanks ES - great tips on the use of a film cannister! I have a photo shop close by that still does some film work so they may have something for me. My (virtual) sensor size is indeed even bigger than full frame, so vignetting is more of a concern. The lens itself does seem to cover this, based on ...

Advise on lens hood dimensions for Zeiss S-Planar 74mm
I was recently very lucky to find a Zeiss S-Planar 74mm. I will be using it on a Novoflex bellows for focus stacking. Important to note is to this bellow I use the PROshift+ which enable the camera to be moved 10 mm to the left and right. The resulting images I stitch as panorama. If I am not mistak...

More spring; Viola odorata
After the first somewhat warmish day this lovely Viola started blooming. Panorama stitched from 3 stacks. Camera supported by the somewhat 'special' 4 legged Quadropod. I guess it has some tradeoffs, but down low on uneven terrain for me it is very stable and versatile. https://c1.staticflickr.com/3...

Thanks Lou and abpho, In this setup the lens is fixed and the camera shifts. The lens appears to have plenty of coverage for the 10mm shift left and right (44mm). There are some odd patterns in the background, but I checked and they are present in each single shot (of a stack, which then was stitche...

First signs of spring
Even if a cold period is expected later this week, spring will come! (panorama of 3 times image stack, taken with A7R2, Novoflex Balpro1 with Proshift+, Zeiss 100mm F4 (for Contax bellows)) https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/726/31935210183_db82296c80_o.jpg snowdrops by Hans van den Bosch , on Flickr

Stitching & stacking workflow - 2nd attempt
Second attempt, taking on board all advise given. I.e. first stack, then stitch. And using the mosaic settings for PTgui. It could have been better, but the workflow is ok now. It's just me being negligent (undershot one of the three stacks, did not check the aperture on the lens which was fully ope...
