LordV shoots high magnification focus stacks handheld in the field. Fotoopa has a laser guided field unit. I'd say the sweet spot lays somewhere between the two :) Great info! Else... for now, knowing my own not so stable hands I could only envy LordV! Will look for Fotoopa setup details. Some of t...

Have you considered automation, such as a StackShot rail or a StackShot-enabled focus block? I spent quite a few years turning handles. That seemed OK at the time, but now that I have automated stepping, I would not be eager to go back. --Rik Hi Rik, Of course I have also considered (but forgot men...

Re: 2 questions
Hi Vikcious, 1) what is the "Focuser", what is it necessary (if it really is!) for and could you provide a link (e.g. ebay or similar) where I could get more specs and be able to purchase. http://www.ebay.com/itm/M52-to-M42-Mount-Focusing-Helicoid-Ring-Adapter-36-90mm-Macro-Extension-Tube-/39144769...

Welcome to the forum Vikcious! "Infinite" Microscope objectives are designed for a "tube" lens of about 200mm. 60mm wouldn't work: The magnification would be (60/200) x 10x, which is 3x but more importantly, the image circle wouldn't be big enough to cover your sensor. Thanks for the prompt reply @...

Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 60mm f/2.8 as tube lens
Hi fellows, I am new to photomacrography and while I am eager to learn I don't want to go on a shopping spree all for nothing. I own an Olympus OM-D EM-1 and 60mm f/2.8 macro lens. Can anyone please confirm if Olympus ED 60mm f/2.8 Macro could be used as a tube lens for an infinity objective (say Ni...
