There is also a thread on Post Focus and the G9 here: http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=37904&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 I will look at your images with interest as you are photographing insects. Most users in that thread are botanical. Thanks for that, I am not interested...

Re: Canon EOS RP Focus Stacking
Interesting, the Sigma 150 mm is not even supported, have you tried this free hand? Not sure what you mean with "not supported". It works in all usage scenarios I have thrown at it so far and it's pin sharp. * Sigma 150mm 1:2.8 APO MACRO DG HSM Bought quite a number of years ago. I mean that Canon ...

Re: Canon EOS RP Focus Stacking
Has anyone tried this? Any thoughts? What lens have you used? Any examples? Yes. Recently started with it and works a treat. * Canon EOS RP + Sigma 150mm Macro * Canon EOS RP + Sigma 150mm Macro + Nikon CFI Plan Achromat 10x (MRL00102) * Canon EOS RP + Sigma 150mm Macro + Nikon BE Plan Achromat 4x ...

Displaying photos of insects
In the UK there are soon to be two entomology exhibitions. I am thinking of taking some photos to display - maybe some from last year in Colombia. Any idea on how to display them? The size etc? Ideally I would want something not to big as one I will go to via public transport. Details for those inte...

In case Andreas has not had time or energy to answer your question (he is struggling with very serious life-threatening health issues), I will try to suggest an answer. This set-up is mainly for field focus stacking to photograph live insects. You often have at most one or two seconds to generate t...

Thinking of going to Olympus for focus bracketting/stacking
Probably Olympus OM-D E-M1 (£295 second hand)or OM-D E-M5 MK II Body Black (£419 new). With the 60mm lens. My shooting is due to commitments not ideal, i.e. I don't get up early and look for insects whilst they are still asleep. It is more 5 minutes here or there when my family let me, never early i...

Take a look at the Post Focus thread: http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=37904&highlight= In my case, the Panasonic G9 has changed the way I focus stack in the field. It has been an eye opener. It is easy to attach and remove a Raynox from the lens (you may need an adapter ring f...

Re: Switch to Panasonic good idea or not worth it?
GX820 I presume this is a typo for the GX800/850 as, so far as I know, there's not an 820 (or 810). Given the objective of handheld stacking it may be worth considering a body with IBIS, particularly if you're thinking the Olympus 60mm over the Panasonic-Leica 45mm as the Olympus lacks OIS. Some fo...

Switch to Panasonic good idea or not worth it?
At the moment I use Canon 60mm and 65mm lens and am thinking about doing the following in April 1) Get Panasonic GX820 and a macro lens and raynox from ideally a company with 30 day returns 2) Test them and see if I can get better than with my Canon If I can keep them then sell the 65mm lens and pos...

Very interesting. I am thinking of going to Panasonic because of this feature.
I quite like this photographer's work.

What were using before and do you think that you can get better photos now?
