aquatic spider ID?
I collected some water from a nearby reservoir 2 days ago. Today I got around to checking it out and I noticed some long stringy, what I thought was algae or fungus, substance. I tried retrieving it from the jar but it's extremely hard to get. So, I went and scooped up some things that were swimming...

same problem
Hello, I've had the same thing happen to my scopes in less than a week. I'm hoping it's due to age. Any suggestions on which of these capacitors would be the better choice or should I be looking for something else? http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/5288_oly_cap2_1.jpg http://www.photomac...

Looking for Olympus BHA repair manual
Does anybody happen to have information on where I could find a repair manual for the BHA? I've looked online with no luck. Maybe something similar to Alan Woods. I have one that doesn't stay focused. It tends to slide down when moving the course and fine adjustments.

How to cure canadian balsam?
I found some Canadian balsam and put a drop on slide that I wanted to preserve from several years ago. Do I need to add heat to cure it or will it cure on its own?...also, here's a pic from the slide

B&L Phase Contrast(Found info)
This condensor has the turret with 10x,20x,40x, and 100x objectives. my question is what are the 4 slides/filters on top used for? Do they come out of the metal housing and slipped into the bottom of the condensor, if so, how do they come out of the housing? Any help would be appreciated. Also, besi...

I took these on a nikon d5100/ pb-5 bellows, altura flash, self made micro aquarium with tricaine water and small aerator, and i believe the sigma 105(or mitutoyo cf3)... I'm gonna try to replicate the pics to be sure. It's been over a year and I can't recall. Also, editing in LR http://www.photomac...

Hello, I've been trying to get the exacts on this Nikon Model S. I believe it's a third gen.(base) model S-KE? with Type U head? I can't figure out what the tube with the colored dots between the condensor and diaphragm is. Any help would be appreciated. http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix...

Thanks for the info, I had to look that up. would this keep the fish alive? The reason I'm asking for live specimen is because I'd like to take pics of all the fish larvae/fry in the surrounding bodies of water. Unfortunately, some of the species are protected/endangered. I know it's a stretch to ge...
