Re: DIC versus other forms of Microscopy

Yes, a very interesting article. Thanks for writing and sharing it. I think you may have been overly pessimistic about the cost of fluorescent microscopy. Secondhand fluorescence epi-illuminators are often available on eBay for older microscopes (e g Optiphot) for around $200. Bright UV LEDs are les...

Re: Kokushoku Musou

Another potentially interesting black is Turner Acrylic Jet Black. I have a tube of this but have not had time to test it yet.

Re: How do you clean Sony camera sensors?

I would like to know the same thing. Besides the problematic cleaners mentioned by seta666, there are reports on the internet that some Sony sensors can easily be ruined with other standard sensor cleaners as well.

Re: China Blue - Corydalis flexuosa

From the pictures on the internet, I would vote for Corydalis flexuosa like the label says, rather than C.incisa. As you said, it is very brave of an app to dare to guess a species name. But it is pretty incredible that it can correctly get the genus.

Mark, did you see Pawel's other post?

I think the insect that is walking around in that post could be the same species as the dead insect shown in this post.

Re: Help to choose between two Mitutoyo 20x lens

One other thing beyond the good advice given. You mentioned bellows. If you have been following the forum you probbaly already know this, but these objectives need a tube lens. Your bellows might be quite helpful as a mount for a Raynox close-up lens, which works well as a tube lens. But the objecti...

Re: Turkestan cockroach (Shelfordella Lateralis) and surprise

Very nice photo!

Wasps undergo complete metamorphosis, changing from a wingless, legless grub to a winged adult. They do not pass through a stage with legs but no wings, so I think your visitor is something else.
