Thank you both for the updates and the very interesting clip. Sad to hear Klaus Kemp is no longer with us, he was a true master of the Victorian art of arranging and preparing diatoms. I'm confident his work will keep inspiring us for our hobby.

Hi Jonathan, thanks for your positive feedback. Time flies, I remember doing this when I had more spare time at the beginning of the pandemic. Hi Bob,

No, that is the reflection of the light coming through the condenser of the Ultropak objective.

Thank you Charles, I was struggling to identify that one! The sample invited to use the higher magnification 50x oil immersion objective as well. (pictures 6, 7 and 9 ). 7 Rotifer > to be identified 8 and 9 expected to be Centropyxis aculeata Amoebae covered with quartz grains. Image 8 done with DIC...
